I think this bag is perfect for trips to the beach, park, and malls this summer with the kids.
Thank you, Anthropologie.

A Prehistoric Playground

The Prehistoric Playground is the perfect park for kids that are in love with large reptiles. They have dinosaur fossils to climb on and one of the greatest slides I have ever seen. There are clean bathrooms and shaded areas, so this park is great for summer outings. The park is located right next to Laguna Hills High School and within the Laguna Hills Community Center. There is also a fossil exhibit at the community center that you can explore as a family or group.

I need a Globetrotter

I just saw this new luggage line from J. Crew and fell in love with it at first click. The only drawback is the price, but I love the lines and classic colors.

Who says nothing's FREE in life?

Horses, castles, knights, live jousting, a four course meal... it's just like being transported back in time to an 11th century feast and tournament, but at the end of the night, you get to go home & sleep in your own comfy bed. If you've never visited Medieval Times, it's definitely a spot to check out. Right now, from May 23rd - July 6th, 2008 kids & teens (ages 3-16) get in FREE when accompanied by a full-paying adult (one free child/ teen per full-paid adult.) Buy tickets HERE, & be sure to enter discount code: WEBKT. For more information go HERE.

DIY Yogurt

This is the Do-It-Yourself age, why should your frozen yogurt be any different? Enter Yogurtland... a self-serve frozen yogurt store. They feature 16 different flavors that rotate on a daily-ish basis, everything from plain jane vanilla (although boring, is always my personal favorite) to cappuccino, or plain tart, & those are just a few. After filling your cup with each & every flavor your little heart desires, top it off with any (or all) of the different toppings available - everything from fresh fruit to red beans, cereal, sprinkles or gummie bears. When you're good & ready the next (& final) stop in this frozen yogurt buffet is the weighing & payment station where you will be charged $.30 for each ounce of yogurt & topping combination - not a bad deal, & very tasty too.... everyone licked their bowls clean. Find your nearest location HERE.

Once Upon a Time...

We all know that reading to our kids is important. (Research has shown that early & good readers come from homes where reading is valued & experienced regularly.) As for me, there's nothing I like better than snuggling up with my kids, to enjoy a good book... but sometimes it's fun to get out, & let someone else to the story-telling.

Did you know that most of our local Orange County libraries offer "story time"? Check out the exact locations & times HERE.

Another great place to hit... Pottery Barn Kids. Every Tuesday from 10 am - 10:30 am, kids of all ages are invited for story time. So if you're in the area, be sure to swing by PBK at South Coast Plaza or The Shops at Mission Viejo.

Shooby Dooby Down To... Ruby's Diner.

A blog featuring the hot spots of Orange County wouldn't be complete without a
post on Ruby's Diner... one of our favorite places for family dining. Bright & shiny red vinyl booths, white formica tables, soda fountains & 1940's decor - what's not to love? once i step inside i feel as though i've been transported to an era long ago, complete with an ice-cold cherry coke. my kids love the cardboard car menus that they can flip up & fold into perfect replicas of a '57 chevy. the menu has enough choices to satisfy even the pickiest of eaters (my personal favorites: the super burger & a black forest shake), & there's always enough going on inside to keep my little ones entertained. Although all the locations are great, our personal favorite is the one in Tustin... with a giant model train in the center of the restaurant, & two working train tracks hanging from the ceiling... my boys are in awe from the moment we walk in the door. Kid Dates

I love the idea of outings with your children and this article from Babble has some great tips. From great ideas like a picnic to whiffle ball in the park, I am already yearning for summer after reading the article and I would have to add trips to the beach.

No More Tears

I love this Shampoo Rinse Cup that I got from Right Start. The cup has a flexible edge that allows you to rinse the child's hair out without getting any water in their eyes. We call it the magic cup and I am sure you will too.
